Die Fledermaus was the perfect antidote to grey November evenings and nearly 700 people enjoyed it at Newbury's Corn Exchange. Johann Strauss' bucketful of glorious tunes, comedy and waltzes, sung in English, were presented in a glitzy contemporary setting.

Much praise must go to Kennet Opera for continuing to undertake the problems involved in staging an opera for the people of Newbury.
All the chorus numbers were obviously enjoyed by the performers as much as by the audience… Well done Kennet Opera.
